Dallas
I am a native Texan, born in Tyler and raised in Dallas. I attended Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I later attended Dallas Theological Seminary earning a Masters degree in Biblical Counseling. I have been practicing as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Dallas area for almost fifteen years. In 2017, five of us founded our own practice, Magnolia Counseling Group, which has been a lot of fun and a great learning experience.
As far back as I can remember, I have always been interested in psychology, the complex world of emotions, observing human behaviors and held an authentic desire to help others. Throughout my years as an LPC, I have worked in a variety of mental health settings and each has gifted me unique and valuable training. I have attained clinical experience in a pregnancy resource center, sober living home for women, Parkland Hospital, post-abortive group therapy, and private practice. My specific areas of interest are family of origin and relationships, depression and other mood disorders, substance use disorders/addiction, attachment disruption and repair, eating disorders, post-abortive care, grief, and trauma.
My clients are a gift and I consider it a great privilege and joy to accompany them on their counseling journey. I draw from several evidence-based theories to care for my clients and am specifically invested in family systems, attachment science, and interpersonal psychotherapy. I desire to always provide a safe and empathic space for clients to process life’s hardships and pain. My heart is to help clients find a path toward freedom from whatever ails them and to live in the fullness of who God has created them to be.
When I am outside of the Magnolia Counseling Group office, I can be found on a roadtrip with my husband, young daughter, and our two labradors. I also like podcasts, books, worship music, comedians, aqua fitness, coffee, and ice cream.
