Kristen Hatton, counselor at Magnolia Counseling Group

Dallas office

Kristen Hatton is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and Oklahoma, as well as a Christian author and speaker. She has written five books—three for teenagers, one for parents of younger children and pre-teens, and her latest, Where Grace Finds You: 40 Devotionals for the Anxious, Overwhelmed, and Brokenhearted, releasing in May 2027.

In 2019, after more than twenty years of mothering, ministry, and lay counseling, Kristen returned to school to earn a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University. As a professional counselor, she works with teen and college-age girls, parents, and women of all ages dealing with life transitions, parenting, grief, anxiety, relationships, perfectionism, spiritual formation, and more.

Kristen believes one of the most important aspects of counseling is in the therapeutic relationship and seeks to create a space where clients feel known, understood, and supported. While she naturally works from a biblical worldview and integrates faith into counseling when desired, she gladly meets all clients where they are. Because she does not see counseling as one-size-fits-all, Kristen draws from a variety of approaches, including family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and internal family systems (IFS), tailoring her work to the needs of each client. She is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Kristen and her husband have three adult children. Outside of work, Kristen is active in her church and enjoys being outdoors, traveling, entertaining, writing, and watching football. Find more from Kristen on her website kristenhatton.com and @redemptiveparenting on Instagram.
