Dallas
I grew up in East Texas and made my way to Dallas in 2012. I received my Bachelors in Psychology & History from Ouachita Baptist University and am a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary’s Masters of Arts in Biblical Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. Throughout my experience as a therapist, I’ve worked in private practice settings working closely with women experiencing trauma, abuse, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, Perinatal Mental Health conditions, family of origin concerns, and self-esteem issues like shame and unworthiness.
My desire to become a therapist began after having experienced the healing and restoration offered through the therapeutic relationship myself. Post grad, my mother was diagnosed with cancer. Additionally, I’d recently finished my collegiate swimming career, something my identity was quite intertwined with, and at that time of transition and grief during my early 20’s I deeply desired support and care. I found a place of acceptance and belonging where I could fully express my difficulties to an unbiased, trusted person who was able to help me unpack all that I felt and began to cope with my life’s unexpected hardships. After experiencing such healing through therapy myself, I eventually became a counselor in order to help others find comfort in the midst of their pain.
I believe that you have intrinsic value as well as God-given worth and deserve to be treated with dignity and care. Journeying alongside others through their difficulties, as well as having navigated through my own, gives me the opportunity to provide hope and comfort and to be a safe place to you as you navigate through the hardships you’re experiencing.
While I am a Christian therapist, I welcome clients from any belief system. Your faith matters to me and I will do my best to incorporate it into our therapy process while simultaneously creating an accepting, unbiased, and non-judgmental atmosphere. It is my desire to be of help to you regardless of your religious orientation.
Though you are hurting, there is hope for healing. Pursuing counseling is a courageous act and I would be honored to walk alongside you, because you matter.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, as well as my friends and neighbors. I also enjoy exercising, reading a good book and being a chauffeur for many children’s activities (soccer mom!)
